Our Mission
Awaken hearts. Heal the broken. Prepare a generation for the return of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
To be a Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, Acts 2 community where people encounter Jesus, experience biblical transformation, discover authentic family, and are equipped to impact their homes, communities, and the nations with the Gospel.
Statement of Faith
The Holy Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living. God’s Word is unchanging and sufficient for teaching, correction, instruction, and equipping believers to live according to His will.
(John 1:14; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5)
The Trinity
We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists in three distinct but co-equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, sharing the same divine nature while fulfilling distinct roles in redemption.
(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended to the Father, and will return again in power and glory. Salvation is found in no one else.
(John 1:1-14; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11)
Humanity and Sin
We believe mankind was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam’s disobedience. Because of sin, every person is separated from God and in need of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
Salvation
We believe salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, received by faith in Jesus Christ alone and not by human works. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the full penalty for sin, offering forgiveness, new life, and eternal salvation to all who repent and believe.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; Titus 3:5)
Repentance
We believe biblical repentance is more than sorrow for sin. It is a genuine turning away from sin and turning toward Jesus Christ through faith, resulting in a transformed life empowered by the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)
Sanctification
We believe every believer is called to continual spiritual growth through the work of the Holy Spirit. As we surrender to God’s Word, we are transformed into the likeness of Christ.
(Romans 8:29; Philippians 2:12-13; 1 Thessalonians 4:3)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, empowering them to live a holy life, bear spiritual fruit, and boldly proclaim the Gospel. We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is available today and that spiritual gifts continue to operate according to Scripture for the edification of the Church.
(Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 2:38-39; 1 Corinthians 12-14)
Spiritual Gifts
We believe all biblical gifts of the Holy Spirit remain active today and are given to strengthen the Church, glorify Christ, and advance His Kingdom. Every gift must operate in love and remain subject to the authority of Scripture.
(Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 4:11-16)
Water Baptism
We believe every follower of Jesus Christ should be baptized by immersion in water after salvation as a public declaration of faith and obedience to Christ.
(Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:38)
The Lord’s Supper
We believe Communion is a sacred remembrance of Christ’s body and blood, proclaiming His death until He returns and encouraging believers to examine themselves before the Lord.
(Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29)
Marriage and Sexuality
We believe God created marriage as a sacred covenant between one biological man and one biological woman. Marriage reflects Christ’s relationship with His Church and is the only biblical context for sexual intimacy. We believe every person is created in the image of God and is worthy of love, compassion, dignity, and respect. While we love every person, we cannot affirm beliefs or lifestyles that contradict God’s revealed design in Scripture.
(Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:31-32; Romans 1:24-27)
Divine Healing
We believe Jesus Christ still heals today according to His will. We pray in faith for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing while trusting God’s perfect wisdom and timing.
(Isaiah 53:5; James 5:14-16; Mark 16:17-18)
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to worship God, make disciples, preach the Gospel, care for one another, and fulfill the Great Commission.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 2:19-22; Acts 2:42-47)
Fivefold Ministry
We believe Christ has given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers, strengthen the Church, and advance His Kingdom until His return.
(Ephesians 4:11-16)
The Great Commission
We believe every follower of Jesus Christ is called to make disciples. Our mission is to share the Gospel, lead people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ, baptize believers, and teach them to obey God’s Word. We are committed to equipping disciples who will, in turn, make disciples, advancing the Kingdom of God both locally and around the world.
(Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 2:2)
An Acts 2 Community
Fresh Start Cleveland is committed to being more than a weekly church service. We desire to be a biblical family that lives out the example of the early church by devoting ourselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer, generosity, worship, and authentic relationships. We believe the Church is called to live life together, carry one another’s burdens, and demonstrate the love of Christ through genuine community.
(Acts 2:42–47; Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 10:24–25; John 13:34–35)
Kingdom Unity
We believe the Kingdom of God is greater than any one church, denomination, or ministry. While we hold firmly to the essential truths of Scripture, we seek to partner with Bible-believing churches, pastors, and ministries to advance the Gospel, strengthen the Body of Christ, and fulfill the Great Commission. Our desire is to see Jesus glorified above personalities, preferences, and denominations.
(John 17:20–23; Ephesians 4:1–6; Philippians 1:27; 1 Corinthians 1:10; Psalm 133:1)
Stewardship and Provision
We believe God is our provider and calls believers to faithfully steward every area of life. We trust Him to meet our needs according to His will while pursuing lives marked by generosity, integrity, and contentment.
(Matthew 6:33; Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
Resurrection
We believe Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead and that all people will one day be resurrected. Believers will receive eternal life, while those who reject Christ will face eternal judgment.
(1 Corinthians 15; John 11:25-26)
Heaven and Hell
We believe Heaven is the eternal home of all who have trusted in Jesus Christ. We believe Hell is a real place of eternal separation from God for those who reject His offer of salvation through Christ.
(John 14:1-6; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:11-15)
The Second Coming
We believe Jesus Christ will personally, physically, and visibly return to establish His Kingdom. This future hope motivates us to live holy lives, faithfully proclaim the Gospel, and eagerly await His return.
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:20)
